Behind the lens

Hello, I’m Ludgero (looj:aero), a photography lover, wine aficionado, and overambitious home chef.

I’m a Portuguese-born Australian wedding photographer, calling France home, where I live amongst the picturesque vineyards with my French wife, our 6-year-old son, and our French Bulldog named Marcel. (that’s me on the right)

I’ve had a true love for photography since I was a child. What started with curiosity - shooting film and developing prints in darkrooms - has grown into a lifelong pursuit of storytelling through images. Over the years, I’ve photographed weddings across France, Portugal, and Italy, yet at the heart of it all remains the same passion that first drew me in: capturing people as they truly are.

For me, photography isn’t just about the camera - it’s about understanding the power and beauty of a photograph. That’s why, when I’m not behind the lens, you’ll often find me in portrait galleries, drawn to both paintings and photographs. I study how artists compose their work, the interplay of light and shadow, and the gestures that reveal deep human connection. These influences continually shape the way I approach each wedding - with an eye for both artistry and authenticity.

I love crafting moments by gently guiding couples and their guests while allowing space for real, unfiltered emotions. When you forget about the camera and simply live in the moment, that’s when the magic happens - the energy, the stillness, the undeniable truth that you’re madly in love.

Every wedding is a story, and my goal is to tell it in a way that feels pure, authentic, and unforgettable. When I’m not shooting weddings, you’ll likely find me being overambitious in the kitchen, trying to perfect yet another recipe (often failing!)

Cheers,

Ludgero
